About Social Map
Social Map is one map of every social dance festival worth travelling for, with dates you can trust and a direct link to the organizer.
What we list
Festivals, congresses, weekenders, resort holidays and marathons in bachata, salsa, kizomba and Brazilian zouk, the styles that sell out hotels in Europe, Türkiye, North Africa and the Gulf. Argentine tango, Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing come next. Right now there are 75 festivals in 27 countries on the map.
We do not list weekly socials, regular classes or competitions such as DanceSport championships.
How we verify a date
1. Official source only. Every date is checked on the organizer's own website, ticket shop or official Instagram or Facebook account. We never copy dates from other listing sites.
2. Shown on the page. Each festival page says where the date was checked and when it was last checked.
3. Labelled honestly. “Confirmed” means the organizer has published the dates. “Dates TBA” means the festival happens every year but the next dates are not out yet. “Planned” is a first edition that has not opened sales.
4. Re-checked. Listings are re-checked regularly and before every newsletter or social post.
Independent and free
Listing is free for organizers. We do not sell tickets or take commission: the “Official site” button always goes straight to the organizer. Festival posters appear only with the organizer's permission.
Who is behind it
Social Map started in Ankara, built by dancers: a dance school team and an international social dance judge who spent too many nights searching six websites for one weekend.
Contact
Organizers: add or correct a festival through the organizer form. Everything else: hello@socialmap.dance or Instagram.
